Inspired by the idea of “Mother Earth as the genius and humanity as the monster,” the designer trawled through books on lost species, extinction events and endangered animals, ones like the collection’s titular pangolin. “When visiting, Maja, from the British Library, shared with me how the architecture of the library was created as a ship,” said the designer. “I understood that it could be possible to transform time and space and to descend deep down into the ocean, on board an underwater vessel or submarine.”
