Inspired by JG Ballard’s Crash and Madonna’s Erotica, the designer said in show notes that “across media, the erotic is frequently staged through gestures of violence, collision, rupture” and that “these cultural forms suggest desire is not simply expressed through bodies, but through impact.” On the runway, this was mostly communicated through discordance: bedraggled knitwear buttoned incorrectly, exposed underwear peeping through rips, plus raw hem skirts and bulging dresses.
