For AW25, Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis sought inspiration in German Tanztheater, a type of expressionist dance style that emerged from the Weimar Republic in the late 1920s, and experienced a resurgence in the 1980s. “The 20s were a moment of freedom, of people rebelling and creating spaces for themselves,” said Davis in the show notes, before adding that the 80s were “another time of liberation”.
