On the runway, things did begin quite basic – with a baseball cap and a striped poplin shirt – but even that had been Vaquera-fied, cut into a leotard and paired with leather chaps. Though the styling did elevate every look to beyond basic – bras over tops, pants over leggings, stacks of metal belts – the essentials were definitely there. Bubble skirts, biker shorts and plain white vests made their way onto the catwalk, as did logo tees, leather jackets and sandblasted denim. Basics with an edge, for the Vaquera woman.
