For SS25, Maximilian Davis found inspiration in Ferragamo’s long-standing connection to the ballet world. Archival photographs formed the basis of that inspiration, from founder Salvatore Ferragamo fitting African-American choreographer Katherine Dunham with a pair of ballet slippers in the 1930s, to Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev’s own custom-made pair from the 1980s. “I’ve always incorporated different historic eras in my work,” said Davis. “At Ferragamo, I’ve sought out similarities – and the beauty of this brand is that there are so many different stories you can relate to.”
