While past collections paid homage to women across pop culture – last year’s Magnolia included references to Kate Moss at Glastonbury and Lindsay Lohan’s mum in The Parent Trap – his latest collection hits closer to home, with Ives turning the lens on the real-life women that have shaped his career so far, which he labels his ‘swans’ in reference to Truman Capote’s accounts of the elegant debutantes of 70s New York. From Adwoa Aboah, who first wore a dress of his to the Met Gala while he was still at Central Saint Martins, to Stevie Sims, Sofia Testino, Ella Richards, and Tish Weinstock, familiar faces of London’s high society came out in full force – “This season’s cast in made up of the women, socialites, friends and muses who have kept me in a state of awe,” he said.
