Are men human? This is the question at the heart of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s AW24 Valentino collection, which seeks to explore “contemporary masculinities” and “the meaning of being a man today”. Piccioli’s answer seems to be a tentative … yes? In this collection, blue, the manliest of colours, is reclaimed, while traditionally male clothes – ie suits – are softened to suggest a “gentle man”. A gentle king! We love to see it.
