Grace Wales Bonner has always approached her craft with academic precision. It was no surprise, then, to learn that her AW24 menswear show was born from “a rich interaction with Howard University’s Moorland-Spingarn Research Center” in Washington D.C. ‘Dream Study’ was described in shownotes as an “imaginative encounter” with the HBCU, one that references the institution’s rich social and political history, gleaned from vintage yearbooks and VHS tapes on the campus green.
