In keeping with the collegiate theme, the show took to the halls of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, the renowned Parisian art school and France’s Oxbridge-equivalent. Familiar varsity references appeared, but re-coded for the elegant, Wales Bonner man. Spell-out ‘Howard’ knits were fashioned as short-sleeve smocks, while Letterman-style jackets came in houndstooth and pinned with feathered brooches. This was college life as cultural nexus, where clothes are the meeting point of multiple practices, but never overwhelmed by the references they hold.
