As the first big night on the awards season calendar, the Golden Globes are usually played quite safe. No star is ready to stick their neck on the line with any declarative fashion statements, instead opting for the soft Hollywood glamour you’d expect from a ceremony that’s pushing 81 years old. Doubtless to say you’ll find words like “elegant”, “classic” and “graceful” ricocheting across the internet for days to come. As the late, great Miss Aretha might put it… great gowns… beautiful gowns.
