Staged at the American Church in Paris, the collection was everything Manas (and life/ creative partner Balthazar Delepierre) had sworn their own wedding will not be: frothy and kitsch and soundtracked to an organist’s renditions of “Take My Breath Away” and “No Ordinary Love.” Made from 90 per cent deadstock fabrics (something old, something borrowed etc) there were all kinds of ruched dresses with scalloped seams and ruffled hems that fluttered up and around the body in a flamenco motion – some in scarlet jerseys, others in ribbed knits and ink-splodged gradients.
