This season, Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter looked at the process of creolisation – the mixing together of different people and practices – and how this has shaped cultural identity in the Caribbean. The duo reflected this idea in panels of clothing that flop and peel back to expose jarring accents beneath – jeans unbuttoned from the waistband, blazers were slashed at the shoulder to reveal a plaid underlayer, and scuba tops were fronted with massive, ribbed jumpers. “The Caribbean youth always ask themselves the question ‘Who am I, where am I from? I have so many different influences’,” Herreburgh said.
