Botter is known for manipulating sensible garments into awkward silhouettes, as if they had been mauled in an oceanic riptide. Blazers were draped from pairs of trousers, beach dresses were crocheted with trompe l'oeil bikini sets, and puffer jackets had been haphazardly bound into a scrunch across the torso. Just as creolisation rearranges culture, Botter scrambles the familiar into ever-changing, hodgepodge forms.
