Fashion is weird. Season after season, designers find themselves unexpectedly riding the same wavelength, with the same hyper-specific references emerging on separate runways. That’s what happened with the anthurium flower, which was the calling card of Loewe’s SS23 collection less than 24 hours after appearing in Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s show. But where LDSS had tucked the plant into waistbands, using its lacquered petals and erect centre to illicit sexuality, Loewe’s took on a deeper and more artful resonance.
