A dress made from yellowing keyboard caps; a goldfish taken home in a plastic bag; a metallic orb; a souvenir t-shirt in neoprene. To experience JW Anderson’s SS23 collection was to walk around a car boot fair in a regional town somewhere off the M25, albeit with a slightly more fashion-forward crowd. Taking over the Las Vegas Arcade in Soho, which is right next to his London flagship – and not far from all those happy ending massage parlours – Anderson preloaded slot machines, meaning guests could get lucky in more ways than one. Following on from his iPad-strewn coats at Loewe last season, the designer examined our relationship with technology in a room filled with neon lights and slot machines begging passersby to have a spin.
