Though Tommy Hilfiger is perhaps best known for varsity jackets, rugby jerseys, and classic denim, under his new see now, buy now imprint – TommyNow – the designer debuted whips, chest harnesses, and studded leather jackets. Where so many other runways have fallen dark this season, SS23 felt as though Hilfiger and co were making a deliberate effort to shake off its girl next door persona: casting a gimp in the attack as its SS23 protagonist.
