“When I’m creating a hairstyle, I always think of the architectural shape. I’ve tried to not work in a fantasy kind of idea and try to talk in a hyperreal way that comes from my eyes. This hairstyle is an exception – I had a few ponytails, and I placed them on top of the head and bound them which created this shape. Then, I cut this very graphic line which gave this exaggerated squareness to the shape, which seems kind of odd to the way hair would naturally fall. I hope there’s something your eye goes to – a line, a wrongness, an extremeness.”
