For his 21st Vivienne Westwood mainline collection, creative director Andreas Kronthaler found solace in a trio of inspirations. First, the Austrian actress Romy Schneider, who Coco Chanel once called “the ultimate incarnation of the ideal woman”; the italian costume designer Danilo Donati, a frequent collaborator of Pier Paolo Pasolini; and “elements of erotic underwear”, like stockings, garters and sex toys. The three were combined for his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week.
