As always, this season also had a fierce political current running through. During their deep dive into the city’s clubbing roots, the pair became inspired by a Berlin before their time, particularly the revolutionary spirit of groups like DAF and Einstürzende Neubauten. “While the values of the Berlin we know are quickly being destroyed into oblivion by greed and repression – we continue to resist through our work,” the pair said. “The collection traces both personal and historical references to bring into the present a time when the city was still counterculture and carried utopian aspirations.”
