Overall, the collection operated as a celebration of Black culture’s relationship with popular culture, hence the name Pop Romance. Kamara paid homage the Black pioneers of disco, hip-hop, graffiti and streetwear through this season’s clothing. Colin Jones in a sequinned top communicated some 70s flair, hip-hop and streetwear was channelled in multi-pocket cargos and outsized silhouettes, while skyscraper prints were in conversation with the cityscape environs.
