After an all-black section in the middle, Ninoyima’s kaleidoscope shone through, covering his collection in pastel coloured candy floss, balls of giant yarn and distended pipe cleaners tied into bows. And while we don’t know for sure what these pieces are supposed to resemble, in refusing to explain his designs in minute detail, Ninoyima gives us the freedom to come to our own conclusions, to interrogate those “hard to understand” feelings for ourselves.
