By the end, the show’s fairly concise 37 looks felt more than double that, thanks to the sheer wealth of ideas Lopez’s catwalks offer. Like most Luar collections, the beauty lay in the gestural codes, like a cocooning, grey marl dress that swallowed its wearer, structured bodices that signalled self-protection, and a full-body, knitted jumpsuit that left its model’s hands purposely limp-wristed. “Hand gestures gay, flamboyant, pato,” read the show notes. “Just like the clothes he wore.”
