As for the clothes, metallic, iridescent shades brought a shine to the end of our days, as did brightly coloured fur and fringing. Models had stars and stripes spray-painted onto their faces whilst they carried mutant dolls who also wore fur and miniature DoW looks. It was a chaotic, playful and colourful debut for Durkee, but most importantly, it was a show that didn’t take itself too seriously – putting the fun back into New York Fashion Week.
