“A core influence is the work of director Béla Tarr,” read notes at Kiko Kostadinov’s AW25 show, shouting out the arthouse filmmaker and fellow Bulgarian. And if Tarr’s characters “exist in worlds where the surroundings – the weather, objects, spaces – are constantly seeping in”, then the dead autumn leaves littering Kostadinov’s Paris space were a sign that those references would soon seep into the collection too.
