Long and unkempt hair seemed to denote the passage of time, an experience dead men are obviously not afforded, while the casting also reflected unjust fate, a set of strikingly young soldiers who’d been sent to their early deaths. Elsewhere, the steel toes of military boots were violently upturned to suggest some sort of forceful act, but it was the transformation from classic green jackets to kaleidoscopic ones that injected a real sense of hope towards the end of the show.
