No era of fashion is remembered or romanticised quite like John Galliano’s 14 year tenure at Christian Dior. After being tapped by LVMH to head up Givenchy in 1995, it wasn’t long before the conglomerate moved him to Dior, just a year later. With the increase in budget that came with the historic French maison, Galliano had the creative freedom to let his imagination run wild. With references ranging from Cleopatra to the Marchesa Casati, Galliano’s Dior was eccentric, ferocious and rich with both history and glamour. On his 64th birthday, we look back at some of Galliano's greatest hits at Dior.
