Today, if you discovered a rapper was collaborating with a fashion brand, you might think ‘likely place for them to be.’ Hip-hop and high fashion seem like obvious bedfellows now, but back in 1996, when Tommy Hilfiger tapped Coolio and Treach from Naughty by Nature to walk his AW96 men’s show, a rapper-runway cameo was practically unheard of.
