When guests arrived below the glass ceiling of Le Carreau du Temple, gone was last season’s heaving, breathing runway, and in its place an installation by Finnish art duo Grönlund-Nisunen, where thousands of metal balls swept round an oscillating plate to produce a noise akin to crackling rain. The first look that emerged on the runway was a leather cocoon that swamped its model’s frame, reminiscent of founder André Courrèges’ Haute Couture creations from the 1960s.
