On the catwalk, the design duo warped the concept of time to their own ends. The question posed by an unnamed critic – “Can Milan’s craziest fashion brand grow up?” – became the tongue-in-cheek starting point for 10 Years Feels Like 100, a show that offered a cast entirely made of older models. Mature silhouettes dominated, with loose fitting slacks and voluminous shirting taking centre stage, while evening wear, like the enormous bubble tops with attached gloves, were refined and grown-up. “These pieces are snobbish, explosive, detached from any so-called trends,” said Rizzo and Messina. “They’re macro and it’s about creating ‘smart wear’.”
