Vitto took inspiration from the Rio coastline this season, specifically the “tempestuous energy” of the ocean as it washed up flowers from this year’s iteration of the annual celebration Festa de Iemanjá. Models were imagined emerging from the waves, which explains the stretchy, skintight fabrics covered in abstract prints, echoing sunlight scattered in saltwater – and some even started life as literal seaweed, crafted into a jersey-style fabric. Elsewhere, more structured denim pieces came into play, using sleeker, sharper lines, but ultimately refusing to budge on Vitto’s mission to put the female figure first.
