Though animal rights campaigners PETA had just staged a protest outside the BFC’s central London show space, Dimitra Petsa had nothing to worry about herself – this season’s show was all about a mythical creature, not a real one. “At the heart of the collection lies the Minotaur, representing the darker side of human nature,” read the show notes for My Body Is a Labyrinth, a show inspired by the Greek myth Theseus and the Minotaur, and the love story of its central characters Theseus and Ariadne. “Through the myth, Di Petsa imagines the labyrinth as the internal exploration we must take to confront our shadow selves,” continued the notes.
