“I’ve always been drawn to leather and denim. It’s the spirit of Acne Studios,” said creative director Jonny Johansson in a statement before the show. “They can transcend genre and subcultures – from punk to S&M,” he continued. “When you want to feel tough you gravitate towards leather and denim; it’s like armour. It always feels right.” The sister fabrics have been Acne Studios’ bread and butter since its inception, and this season Johansson promised to revisit those 90s codes, but for “a fast woman: sculpted and futuristic.”
