Though Jones took things up a notch towards the end, presenting a selection of glistening jackets and an embellished boilersuit – his first foray into men’s couture – it was the shoes that added a layer of off-kilter cool. The designer was making a compelling case for boys in ballet flats, shown in a rainbow of colours with contrasting, shin-high socks. While some might see them as a controversial relic of the late 2000s, Jones has shown how to reappropriate them for the modern man’s wardrobe.
