It turns out J-Dubs had popped the film in for a rewatch back in July, and for the first time was inspired to create a collection based on a movie. “I became obsessed with Christiane Kubrick and how she painted most of the artworks in her husband’s film”, Anderson admitted after the show. This new obsession resulted in a collaboration with the 91-year-old painter, whose gentle brushstrokes adorn floor-length towel dresses and outsized knitwear throughout.
