On the floor of Mowalola’s AW23 show – staged in an air hanger-style exhibition space in central London – was a behemoth vinyl sticker bearing some kind of Hans Holbein-style illusion (he painted macabre, trick-of-the-eye skulls in portraits of Henry VII). It set the tone for a dark and at times twisted collection that mined the space between what was real and what was fake.
