In and amongst all the sheer cowboy boots, glass-droplet waist chains, and hulking shell necklaces, the designers called on the “whimsical heroism” of The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries that are hung within the Musée de Cluny. Lace tops are draped and double-layered over the shoulders, while languid cargo trousers skim the hips. Silky, off-centre halter-necks bare the midriff with sleeves wrapped around the waistband. Doily-bibbed shirts are sliced at the armpits to let the arms swing freely, and sheer, sleeveless dresses are layered with spaghetti-strapped slips. As always, the collection runs the gamut of skew-whiff hems and wonky pattern cutting, seen on a trio of puzzle-draped dresses that almost fall away from the body.
