Partly down to all those menswear forums on Reddit and Zendaya’s red carpet appearances, mainstream fashion fans have leaned full-tilt into the dark side over recent years, but Owens still remains cautious of the establishment. “THE MESSAGE IS A VOTE FOR OTHERNESS,” he said of this season’s collection. “A DEPARTURE FROM TASTEFUL AND PERHAPS NARROW AESTHETIC CONVENTIONS AND MAYBE AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO CONSIDER OPEN MINDEDNESS IN OTHER AREAS OUTSIDE OF PERSONAL APPEARANCE AS WELL.”
