It wasn’t completely saccharine, though – Acne Studios has built itself on subversive denim and a slightly more hard and fast approach to dressing. The saccharine was therefore squared against studded handbags, chokers, high-waisted jeans hoicked up to the chest, and spiked mules. Tassels were trapped between layers of tulle, sea-shell earrings dangled well below the knee, and satin bows were reimagined as nipple clamps. At the crossroads of Pinterest wedding boards and Tumblr grunge, Johansson proved that a decade in Paris was an experience of living, laughing, and loathing.
