Though his more art school designs will certainly travel well on the newsfeed, Anderson is more than a meme merchant. Lace-trimmed slips, crinkled t-shirt dresses, destroyed sequin trousers – as worn by Emily Ratajowski – and draped, twisted dresses will no doubt make an appearance on the street. In mining the slipstream between the IRL and the URL, the designer managed to bring a sense of reality to the traditional fashion show, with editors and buyers bundling into dance machines and competing not for a quote backstage, but on the slots. For Anderson, SS23 was a gamble that paid off.
