Grace Wales Bonner: “Terry Adkins is probably my favourite artist. There was a posthumous show (of his work) in New York that I went to a couple of years ago – he used to meditate with the objects for a long period of time, so they would have this amazing sense of potential. You really felt his presence with these objects. And they became part of his performances as well. There was always a human relationship to the sound; I really feel he was able to represent a sense of rhythm visually.”
