Dior came under fire by Diet Prada for its use of a pattern from a decades-old wooden block print by People Tree, a fair trade store and collective in India that empowers local designers (here modelled by Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor on the cover of Elle India). Dior and People Tree’s founder Orijit Sen settled out of court for an undisclosed amount that Sen said would enable them to build a “properly-equipped studio and workshops for collaborative crafts, art and design projects”
