“Debbie had a stack of damaged contact sheets from ‘The Hunter’ session (which were damaged in a flood in Chris Stein’s basement in the 90s). I thought these were the perfect analogy for this time period, right before it all came crumbling down for the band. I also noticed one of the images had Debbie and Chris cut out and left a empty square, I used one of Jody Morlock’s illustrations of an androgynous figure in its place. I thought that it really summed up their relationship and how Debbie had previously said ‘together they made one great person’” – Rob Roth
