Raw uncut betel nuts, a leaf used to wrap some betel nuts and two common preparations of betel nuts. The first preparation is de-shelled, sliced in half and has a darker paste sandwiched inside. The other is wrapped in a leaf with a creamy paste inside the leaf. Some betel nuts are packaged in boxes with imagery of young women in sexy clothing. A package of betel nuts typically sells for NT $50 and up depending on the season, quality of the betel nut, preparation, and location of the stall.
