You wouldn't be able to categorise Feindrehstar even if you tried. The producer team from Germany's Jena and Thuringia create their own musical sub-genres out of the grey area that is NuJazz / Broken Beat, Techno and House into something new: Krautclub! Apparently. With between six and eight members, Feindrehstar craft their sound as a 'live concept', allowing them to embark on a European tour while releasing music on their home label Human Instinct and their first EP “Danctrack” on Sonar Kollektiv. Musikkrause, their debut album, involves a concoction of house and hip-hop with a jazz-funk base. Composed of the trumpet, saxophone, scratch & samples, bass, percussions, drums, and keys, with productions from Michael Baumann of Soulphiction / Jackmate, Feindrehstar present their first LP “Vulgarian Knights”, and their 12" releases and double-LPs are available through Kompakt.
