From Ninja Tunes's imprint Big Dada's ever diverse current roster comes DELS, a young hip hop producer who had John Peel support him from the start as a teenager. Having worked with the likes of label mate Kwes and Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, DELS is set to release his new single 'Shapeshift'. Dazed Digital speak to him about the eye-boggling video which we premiere here...

Dazed Digital: How would you describe what you make?

DELS: Hip Hop. Raw and honest.

DD: Where did the idea for this Shapeshift thing come from?
DELS: I wanted to write a song about my childhood and how boredom influenced me use my imagination in various ways. I spent a lot of time eating clouds as a child, so this is just a reflection of that. I wrote this song with the video in mind.

DD: Why do you think you and Goddard work so well together?
DELS: I think we work together well because he let's me roam free lyrically on his productions. Joe encourages me to embrace those weird concepts that often pop into my head. I've known him for a few years now so I feel comfortable when working on songs with him. I am a massive Hot Chip fan so to work with Joe Goddard is a dream. I also love working with Kwes, Eli-T and Micachu - all of whom supplying beats for my album. My debut album is finally starting to take shape and I am so excited about finishing it.

DD: Any dream collaborators?
DELS: The dream list is so long! Musically, I'd love to work with Lykke Li, Flying Lotus, Joy Orbison, DOOM and Buju Banton. Visually, the United Visual Artists!

DD: What's next?
DELS: A visual mixtape. Finishing my debut album and burning down a few dancehalls with the finished product.
