Coachella wouldn’t be Coachella without some big surprise appearances onstage. The weekend’s not over yet, so there might still be more to come, but we’ve already had a two-for-one. (And no, it’s not everyone’s fave smooth jazz player Kenny G, though he did pop up as well.)
During DJ Snake’s set on Friday night (or Saturday, if you’re in the UK) both Selena Gomez and Cardi B took to the stage with Ozuna for “Taki Taki”, their huge four-way collab from 2018.
The Latin track features rapping in Spanish and English from Gomez and Cardi, whose last appearance at Coachella was last year, while pretty heavily pregnant with her daughter. As is to be expected, Cardi greeted the Coachella crowd with her signature brazen delivery (wearing one of those medieval Alexander McQueen floral corsets, worth a mention).
The volcanic video for “Taki Taki” also, incidentally, made it into the top 10 videos to reach 100 million views on YouTube when it released in October 2018 (though nowhere near as fast as BTS’s “Boy With Luv”, which has just topped 112 million on its second day). “Taki Taki” now sits at over 1.26 billion.
