Tyler, the Creator drops a Grinch-inspired EP

Whoville never sounded so hot

Remember last week, when Tyler, the Creator dropped his song from the new Grinch soundtrack? Well, in case that wasn’t enough Grinch-inspired Tyler for you, the Flower Boy rapper has now released a whole EP that draws from the Christmas comedy character.

Titled Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, the EP begins with “Whoville”, a piano instrumental, and moves onto “Lights On”, an upbeat bop about coming home (for Christmas?) featuring Ryan Beatty and Santigold. Then there’s “Hot Chocolate” – featuring songwriter Jerry Paper – in which Tyler literally details how he likes his hot chocolate. Good to know.

Overall, the record does have a pretty christmassy feel – think bells and jazzy chord changes – but that doesn’t mean missing out on some classic Tyler, the Creator verses, either. Listen on Spotify.
