American fashion designer John Varvatos in conjunction with Island Records and SPINearth.tv have launched a new competition, a global quest to discover the worlds finest unsigned rock’n’roll band. Three lucky finalists will be flown to New York to perform at 315 Bowery, famous home of the CBGB’s, in front of leading figures from the fashion and music industry during New York Fashion Week this coming autumn. The lucky winner chosen that night receives a development deal courtesy of Island Records and the opportunity to front the John Varvatos USA advertising campaign. The closing date for submissions is 31 July 2009 and entrance to the competition is through the SPINearth.tv website, each entrant is required to upload a short video, biography and photograph.
