Music / First LookWatch Jesse Kanda’s NSFW video for Arca’s new trackThe Venezuelan producer releases his second full-length Mutant today – check this highly personal video made by his closest friendShareLink copied ✔️November 20, 2015MusicFirst LookTextThomas Gorton Arca is one of the boldest muscians of our generation, a thrilling talent unconcerned with conventional approaches to making ‘electronic music’. Today, the Venezuelan producer releases Mutant, his second full-length album, a record that builds upon his debut Xen with an intensified emotional thrust and continued willingness to venture into bleak, beautiful sonic terrains with scant regard for traditional song structures. To celebrate the release, we’re premiering the video for the Jesse Kanda-directed “Front Load”. Kanda is another unique artist, with this arguably his most personal work to date. The camera moves all over the video artist’s naked body, with extreme close-ups of his genitals (and possibly a pomegranate) providing the visual accompaniment to Arca’s floaty synth track. Why should we be ashamed of our naked bodies? Medieval as it may seem, them be the rules – so if you’re watching at work, make sure you turn your screen. Buy Mutant here. Escape the algorithm!
