Successfully managing to impersonate Nicki Minaj is a big task. She talks like no-one else, looks like no-one else and is one of the most successful rappers on the planet. She’s also not that often in Northern Ireland. So let’s give 24-year old Stephen Brown a little credit here – he’s attempting the impossible.

Brown, of Country Antrim, has been given a four-month jail sentence and banned from ringing 999 after calling the emergency services on Christmas Day claiming to be Nicki Minaj and saying that there was a poltergeist in his house.

Now I don’t know where Her Minajesty likes to spend the festive season, but I’d be surprised if it was somwhere in County Antrim. Brown has been given a harsh sentence because he’s a repeat misuser of the 999 service. His defence barrister described him as "his own worst enemy", while the judge labelled him a "nuisance" but said that it was clear he needed assistance.

Meanwhile, in another universe, Nicki Minaj arrested for calling 911 and pretending to be a 24-year old man from Northern Ireland.
